Following passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, Marine Pilot and Emergency Room Physician, Dr. Rich McCormick, issued the following statement:

“American families are struggling to afford gas, groceries, and housing. Businesses are battling job-killing regulations and the woke mob has infiltrated our schools and military. The border is broken, undermining public safety and national security. Our ill-advised foreign policy has made America weak and feckless. 

“Despite the clear challenges we face and the incredible impact of this Administration’s failed leadership, Democrats in Washington remain hell-bent on advancing their radical, big government agenda. Today’s vote in the House proves once again that this Congress is absolutely disconnected from reality and the American people. They chose to put politics and partisanship first.

“The bill passed today will not reduce inflation, re-ignite our economy, nor make our country safer, stronger, or more prosperous. This legislation raises taxes, boosts energy prices, grows government, and empowers the IRS to harass law-abiding citizens. Congress voted to double down on the same policies that created this mess in the first place.

“While absolutely opposed to this bill and the politics that led to its passage, I am optimistic that a new day is near. It’s not too late to turn the tide and get our country back on the right track. Over the next several months, I will work to earn the support and trust of voters throughout Georgia’s 6th District so I can win at the ballot box and join a historic freshman class in Congress. Together, we will champion bold, common-sense policies that empower small businesses, protect our communities, and safeguard our values and way of life.
